May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and to help break the stigma surrounding it, Wallenpaupack Area High School is hosting a Mental Health week from Monday, May 6 to Friday, May 10. We also are celebrating children’s mental health awareness week. With that in mind, the Aevidum Mental Health Fair will be on Thursday, May 9.
Mrs. McGinnis, the planner behind this week, says that one of the reasons she thinks why Aevidum is so successful is that the student body truly cares about ending the stigma surrounding mental health. Most students want to feel comfortable talking about mental health openly. Overall, Aevidum members want students to know that mental health is just as important as physical health, and the two often go hand and hand. The fair is sure to be a great learning opportunity, as well as a fun time!
