The Video Club advised by Mr. Jackman, is an after-school club where students can work on photography and videography projects. The club is not limited to students who take the courses, it is open to anybody who is interested. In the Video Club, members work on their own projects or class projects, maintain the studio and do repairs, work on projects for outside clients, and more. In Video Club, students record various school events. Every June, the Video Club records the graduation ceremony and sells the video on a USB drive as a fundraiser. Also, the club showcases various school events that may have been unnoticed.
I interviewed Mr. Jackman to learn more about the club and the courses. Mr. Jackman has been teaching photography and videography courses for sixteen years. He also runs the news every second block. This year, Mr. Jackman is most looking forward towards “finishing the long-term pieces that students began in September.”
These students’ projects are not made using a moviemaker program, they are stitched together piece by piece. If you’re interested in joining the Video Club or have any further questions, you may visit Mr. Jackman’s room, 212, or reach him thought Outlook. Meetings are held each Tuesday after school in Mr. Jackman’s room. The club tries to meet once a week, so if we do not have school or after-school activities on a Tuesday, listen to the announcements to learn about rescheduling.
