Wyoming Area was victimized by Wallenpaupack Area on
Tuesday, as the Lady Buckhorns Softball team made an example out of the lady warriors 16-0. Wallenpaupack, who opened with Wyoming Area last season, wanted a repeat against them. Last year Paupack won 15-2.
The game was over in the first inning. Clara Babyak and Gabby Hieber walked, and then were both driven home by Hunter Myers. The score went from two to zero to nine to zero in an instant. The last two runs were driven in by Gabby Hieber who launched her third home run.
Speaking of Hieber, she had a pretty good day with twostrikeouts, zero runs, and one hit yielded. The game ended in the third inning by mercy rule after the Lady Buckhorns scored seven more runs.
Coach Babyak after the game credited the team for their amazing performance. But the road is only going to get tougher for Paupack. Their next event is at Dallas on Thursday March 21, and it will be Another good test for the Lady Buckhorns.
