Starting March 18 and ending on March 22, inclusion week will be celebrated district-wide with every day bringing a new kindness challenge and dress-up theme. Although this district is no stranger to dress-up theme weeks, this week is for more than just fun. This week is all about making people with all needs feel included and accepted while asking people to be kind. There is lots planned for the week!
Mix-It-Up Monday is first with a dress-up theme of mismatched clothing and the kindness challenge to reach out to new people, whether it be at lunch or anytime throughout the day.
Wearing bright and/or neon clothing is what Unique Tuesday is all about, and don’t forget to compliment someone to complete the kindness challenge of the day!
To stay comfortable, wear pajamas on Wellness Wednesday and just take care of yourself; the kindness challenge includes being kind to yourself as well.
To be thankful on Thursday, wear something that represents your family, your culture, or even just your favorite sports jersey, and don’t forget to let someone know how thankful you are for them.
Last, but certainly not least, the goal is to feel good on Friday, so get together with your friends to dress up as whatever group you want – characters from Harry Potter, a pack of crayons, or whatever comes to mind. This might seem like a lot, but in addition to Feel-good Friday, it’s also Hi-day! Try to say “Hi” or high five everyone you see!
This might be a lot of information at once, but don’t worry about forgetting; there are fliers up in every classroom as a reminder. Start planning outfits and enjoy the week!
