Written by Bethany Day,
Every week in Paupack Press, we select a senior who has done incredible work. This week, Paupack Press has picked Sydney Sura, who is a wonderful artist here at Wallenpaupack.
I interviewed her and asked her the main question that everyone wonders, “what inspired you to make art?” She responded quite beautifully: “I was never great at words.”
She continued, “Art would help me express myself and I couldn’t help but constantly be doodling and drawing on everything my whole life. I started finding myself making art constantly, in school, on the bus, and then at home.”
Sydney plans on attending SCAD, Savannah College of Art and Design, in Savannah, Georgia, and majoring in painting. We wish the best of luck to Sydney Sura in the future, and we hope you continue spreading your art around the world.
