On Wednesday January 31, the Wallenpaupack Area High School’s Family Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) and the CTE Culinary Program held a luncheon to honor the first responders in the community. There were local firefighters, emergency medical technicians, paramedics, and police officers in attendance. There were also some students that attended. Mrs. Sara Rosencrance, who is an FCCLA Co- Advisor, said, “Students enrolled in WAHS’ CTE Protectives Services Program, along with their instructor and local 1st responder, Mr. TJ Lofberg, also attended.”
These people put their lives on the line every single day. They also put their family’s lives on hold for strangers in need.
Mrs. Rosencrance also provided more information on this event, “A competitiveevent for FCCLA, the luncheon fulfilled the requirements of the FCCLA Chapter Service Project. Led by eleventh grade students Soleil Wright, and Tati Campbell-Algermon, the pair planned, organized, collaborated, and hosted the special event honoring our local heroes. Together, the team will present an overview of their project at this year’s state FCCLA Competition in Lancaster, PA. Both FCCLA and the WAHS CTE Culinary Arts Program are grateful for the support of local businessman Mr. Chris Cykosky whose generous grant funded the luncheon.”
The luncheon was a great success and not only did Soleil Wright, Tati Campbell-Algermon, and the WAHS CTE Culinary Program show their appreciation to the first responders, but also the first responders showed their appreciation by attending this event.
