Girl’s Basketball

The girls’ basketball team has a record of 9-5 and is “growing and developing every day,” according to Coach Miller. “They show up and play hard. Every game is tough, and they are fighting the fight with continuous effort. Their team effort and desire to be better is incredible.” Their games against our school rival, Honesdale, are always games where extra desire can be sensed among the girls. The starting five on the varsity team include Ella Smith (the leading scorer), Erika Badner (leader with three-pointers), Lily Mancini (leading rebounder). Lexi Kapshcull and Delaney Murphy handle “the small things that really matter,” such as handling the ball and rebounding. Other varsity players include Emma Cykosky, Lily Williams, and Carly Cerciello. “Emma, Lily, and Carly are key in coming off the bench and they deserve a lot of credit since they do not see as much time as the other players and come to practice every day working hard with a great attitude. That says a lot about their character.”
