On December 6, Wallenpaupack had its 17th annual Santa’s Workshop. Santa’s Workshop was made for the children of Wallenpaupack who could not buy gifts for their families. The tradition started when a guidance secretary, Ann Lucier, started to bring in items for the children who needed a helping hand during the holiday season. She then created Santa’s Workshop, and organized it annually until she retired. Mrs. Mitschele and Mrs. Regenski now run the workshop together.
I asked Lily Struble, a member of Volunteers In Paupack, how she felt about Santa’s Workshop, and she said, “I think it’s really great! It’s a really good opportunity for less fortunate students who need a place to shop for Christmas gifts for the family.”
Kudos to Volunteers in Paupack, Mrs. Mitschele, and Mrs. Regenski for helping so many students this year. Happy Holidays!
