Poem

A forgotten town,

18 meters down,

Swallowed by the lake,

What did it take?

A buzzing borough,

Where the bunnies burrow,

A town full of life,

Serrated by the knife,

Of a company,

Oh, what company?
PPL.

They created a dam,

It seemed a scam,

To use this land,

For one another, hand in hand.

It sits on Lake Wallenpaupack,

A lake hidden in the break,

Of the forest in northeast PA.

A cemetery sits below,

A hollow sound knows,

That the ghosts of Wilsonville,

Are rising from the hills.

Oh, Lake Wallenpaupack, what a wonderful story you hold,

Why, I wonder what else it is you’ve told.
