On June 2, the Wallenpaupack Area High School Band went to Montreal, Canada. It was in Montreal from June 2 until June 4. As soon as the WAHS band landed in Montreal, they had a performance at Marguerite Bourgeoys’ Historic Chapel and they played a mixture of American and Canadian songs.

After the band performed, they got to do a walking tour of Old Montreal. The tour guides of the walking tour lived in Montreal most of their lives, so the band was able really to understand Old Montreal. After the walking tour, everyone went to dinner and then day one was complete.

Day two was a day full of science! The band visited the Montreal Biodome, and the members were able to visit multiple ecosystems and with many animals. After the biodome, the band went to Planetarium and saw the new show, “Quest for New Skies.”

After a morning full of science, the band went to Saint Joseph’s Oratory. They got to see beautiful stained-glass windows and they got to see the tomb of Saint Joseph. Once everyone got see what they wanted, the band went back to Old Montreal and got dinner. After everyone had dinner and did some shopping, the band went to Cirque du Soleil’s “ECHO”. The show was magnificent and breathtaking. The acrobatics were exhilarating, and everybody’s jaws were on the floor throughout the entire show. The band was able to end their night with an amazing show. They ended night two with a bang! On the last day, the band went to an Ensemble workshop at McGill University. They learned many valuable lessons from the conductor. Once the workshop was over, the band went to the Jean Talon Market and went shopping for lunch and souvenirs. After such an amazing trip, the band headed back to the United States. Here are some photos from the trip:
