To say this game was over when it was over would be a bad understatement. Wallenpaupack put on a full display of dominance against Delaware Valley since the first inning as the Lady Bucks won this game 15-0. The Lady Bucks previously had lost two in a row coming into this game against. They desperately needed to win this game. DV was the perfect victim for Paupack’s acts of destruction. Clara Babyak and the Lady Buck defense started the game with a strong defensive stand, getting a ground out and then a great double play. Next it was Paupack’s turn to strike. Allie Sterner led off with a walk. Emily Sterner then hit a line drive single that got her to second on an error, and Allie Sterner scored on the same error. Emily Sterner would then be driven in as well by a double from Hunter Myers.
The second inning was when Wallenpaupack really started to obliterate the Lady Warriors. Clara Babyak started the inning with a bunt to third that went for a single, and then stole second. In that same at bat, Karleigh Weist would advance to first on a hit by pitch. Allie Sterner would then drive in Babyak on a hard hit ground ball that turned into a single. Karleigh Weist would also score off a sacrifice fly from Emily Sterner. It would only get worse for DV, as Hunter Myers punished them with a two-run bomb, her second home run of the season. The runs after that just kept on coming. Gabby Hieber, Kailyn Kielbasa, Dakota Hubbard, and Clara Babyak all scored in second inning. The score was 10-0 going into the third inning, and this game was pretty Paupack’s.
Clara Babyak and the Lady Bucks played great defense. Delaware Valley tried get at least one run, but they were stuffed with a zero. Five more runs were scored off the burning bats of Paupack as the game ended in a mercy rule in the fourth inning, solidifying their second beating of Delaware Valley. It was absolute annihilation from Wallenpaupack in this game, scoring fifteen runs and netting fourteen hits. Players like Hunter Myers, Allie and Emily Sterner, Gabby Hieber, Karleigh Weist, and many on Wallenpaupack all got their bats going. Clara Babyak was also pretty dominant defensively pitching a full game with a one hit shutout, allowing 0 runs, and getting two strikeouts, and her second win against the Lady Warriors. Between both games against Delaware Valley, the Lady Bucks have out scored them 31-0. The Lady Bucks got their hands full next week, starting with a tough game at Valley View on Monday May 15th at 4:30.
